Those of us unfortunate enough to have scars have searched for ages for some miracle sure that would help us get rid of them. Excluding plastic surgery, nothing reliable and 100% effective has been discovered so far. Many of the recipes found online are dubious at best, some even harmful. Some have been passed down from older generations and grandmas swearing at their effectiveness. Others are simply a product of snake oil salesmen.

These four have been tried and are known to yield some results, although they won’t remove the scar completely. It will become less visible, however. Still, you should consult with your doctor before applying it. Here is how you make them.

Fuller’s Earth

Fuller’s Earth can be found in health food stores or herbal retailers. Mix one tablespoon with rosewater and lime juice and mix it into a paste. Apply the paste several times a day.

Onion Juice and Olive Oil Scar Remedy

Blend ¼ of a cup of fresh onions until they liquify. Pour it into a small bowl and add one tablespoon of olive oil. Stir it until it is consistent. Apply it on the scar and leave it for 25-30 minutes, then rinse it off with water.

Oat and Cream Remedy

For this one you will need two tablespoons of sour cream and plain yogurt. Mix them together, then add another tablespoon of yoghurt and stir it in. Leave the paste on the scar for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse it off with cold water.
